Did you know that the pets most likely to be put down in animal shelters are those that people perceive as different from "the norm"? This includes cats and dogs of certain breeds, of old age, with black fur, or with disabilities. The Adopt Weird campaign concept for the Austin, TX Humane Society was created to promote adoption of these animals and decrease euthanasia rates, nodding to the city’s slogan “Keep Austin Weird” to humanize the quirky pets and celebrate being different.
