RESEARCH
My research was focused on the nature and culture of Iceland. It is a contradiction in itself, a striking contrast of nature full of glaciers and volcanoes and both light and dark extremes. The color palette was taken directly from one of Iceland's most sublime natural phenomenon's, the northern lights. The system was inspired by Scandinavian and Nordic aesthetics, characterized by simplicity, minimalism and functionality.
CONCEPT
PRISM is a concept for a multipurpose venue in Reykjavik, Iceland. Inspired by the country's nickname "The Land of Fire and Ice", the concept for the brand identity was The Duality of Being, conveying the universal idea of contrary yet complementary forces in the natural world. This is brought to life visually through the flexible type-driven system as well as the brand name and photographic treatment.
